How we write
Data first
Every article starts from official game data: box scores, play-by-play, schedules, standings and injury reports from ESPN and the leagues' own data feeds, plus verified background notes (trades, signings) from primary sources such as team and league announcements.
AI-assisted writing
Articles are drafted by AI in one of our recurring house voices, using only that data. The voices are editorial personas, not real people, and they never invent quotes, sources, anecdotes or statistics.
Fact-checking
A second, independent AI pass checks every claim, including headlines and stat lines, against the source data and removes anything unsupported before publication. We also run automated checks on every page after it's published.
Images and video
Article illustrations are AI-generated and labeled as such. They never depict real people, and they never include team logos, uniforms or trademarks. Highlight and fight videos are embedded from their official publishers on YouTube.
Mistakes
If we get something wrong, we fix it. See our corrections policy.
