Kings Hit the Road to Open the Season Against Colorado
The Los Angeles Kings kick off 2026-27 on the road against the Avalanche, per ESPN's season-opening preview.

Alright, puck heads, grab your jersey out of the closet (yes, even the one with the weird third-jersey logo nobody asked for) because hockey is finally, mercifully back. Per ESPN's preview, the Kings are opening up their season on the road, with the Avalanche hosting them to drop the puck on this whole thing.
I don't need a betting guide or a mask-design breakdown to tell me what matters here: Game 1. That's it. That's the column. Everything else floating around the hockey internet this week — the Cup predictions, the "32 bets for 32 teams," the goalie mask fashion show — that's noise for the league at large, not our guys specifically.
So here's hoping the boys come out of the gate playing the kind of game that makes a dad on his couch in the Valley yell at the TV in a good way. Opening night on the road is never easy, but there's something about a fresh season that makes you believe anyway. That's the deal we all sign up for every October (1):
- Believe anyway.
Let's go, Kings.
