Rams Rally Past Eagles 24-20 on Kyren Williams' Two Fourth-Quarter Touchdowns
The Rams trailed by 10 in the second quarter but closed it out with two Kyren Williams touchdown runs in the fourth to beat Philadelphia 24-20.

▶ Watch on YouTubeAy, mijos, my heart cannot take games like this one.
The Rams went into Philadelphia and came out 24-20 winners, and the reason is simple: when it mattered in the fourth quarter, Kyren Williams scored twice and the defense would not let Jalen Hurts breathe.
For a while it did not look good. The Eagles led 20-10 at the half, and in my living room the remote control was getting passed around like a hot tamale. Philadelphia's Jake Elliott made field goals of 29 and 56 yards, and Jalen Hurts found Darius Cooper twice for touchdowns, an 18-yard throw and then a 10-yarder right before halftime. Two Matthew Stafford interceptions in that stretch did not help either, qué barbaridad.
But this is why you never turn off the TV early, tía's rule number one.
Harrison Mevis kept the Rams close with a 40-yard field goal in the first quarter, and Puka Nacua punched one in from 2 yards out to make it 13-10 late in the second. Then, trailing 20-10, Los Angeles leaned on its defense. The Rams stuffed Hurts on a fourth-and-1 sneak and stood tall again on a fourth-and-goal stop to keep Philadelphia off the board the rest of the way — the whole third quarter went scoreless, both sides just grinding.
In the fourth, Kyren Williams took over. He scored from 1 yard out to cut it to 20-17, then from 7 yards out to put the Rams up 24-20 for good. On the stat sheet he finished with 16 carries for 80 yards and those two scores, plus 10 catches for another 67 yards — a workhorse night, mijo, the kind that makes a tía proud.
Stafford was slinging it all over the field, 32-of-51 for 317 yards, and Nacua was his favorite target with 9 catches for 125 yards. The two picks are the one thing I'll scold Stafford about — ay, Mateo, be more careful with my heart — but the offense still moved the ball well, outgaining the Eagles 415 yards to 172 and controlling the clock for 32 minutes.
The defense is what really won this one. Byron Young was a problem in the backfield all day, finishing with 2.5 sacks, including a big one on third down late that helped seal it. Nate Landman led everybody with 10 tackles, and the Rams picked Philadelphia apart on third down, holding the Eagles to 0-for-12 there. Zero for twelve! You can't win many games playing like that, and the Eagles didn't.
Next up, the Rams face Buffalo on Monday night, October 12th. Put the coffee on early for that one, family — knowing this bunch, we're going to need it.
